Boppeto is an on-demand waste collection app built by Foundation AMG in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You subscribe, confirm your location on the map and request a pickup with one tap: a rider from the local operator collects your waste.
Where is Boppeto available?
Boppeto is in a pilot phase in Ariwara, Ituri province (DR Congo). More towns will open with local operators. If your address isn't served yet, the app lets you know as soon as it is.
How do I pay?
You pay your town's operator directly: cash, Mobile Money or bank transfer, quoting your customer number shown in the app. Once they record the payment, your subscription is active and you get a receipt.
How much does Boppeto cost?
The price depends on the package, duration, waste types and bin you choose. It is set by your town's operator in Congolese francs (CDF), and the exact total is shown in the app before you confirm.
Can I choose my own bin?
Yes. When you subscribe, you either rent your operator's bin for a monthly fee, or buy one from their catalog, added once to your total.
Why do I choose waste types?
So your operator knows what to collect and can sort it. Each type can have its own monthly price, shown before you confirm.
How do I request a pickup?
Once you're subscribed and your collection point is confirmed on the map, the "Ring the bell" button in the app sends your request.
What happens if a pickup fails?
The rider reports it and a new request is created for you automatically. There's nothing for you to redo.
How do I change or cancel my subscription?
Contact your operator, whose details are in the app, and they will take care of it for you.
How do I become a Boppeto operator?
Fill in the application form on this page. Foundation AMG gets in touch, you sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) together, then your area opens and customers in your town are assigned to you automatically.
